For years, people told me I should do something with my voice. Most suggested radio. A few even asked me to record their voicemail greetings. But what pulled me toward voiceover was something I’d loved since childhood: bringing words and characters to life.
I took drama in high school, made up voices without thinking, and loved getting a room laughing with a character. Watching Robin Williams in the recording booth in Mrs. Doubtfire stayed with me: the playfulness, the different personalities, and the way a voice could make a drawing feel alive.
That curiosity carries into every kind of script. I love finding a character’s personality, making a commercial feel conversational, or helping a documentary tell a story worth listening to. Whether it’s dog food, national parks, or an imaginary world, I want to understand what matters and make that connection felt.
Outside the booth, I’m usually following music, watching a movie, or collecting another animal, science, or history fact. Recently, that meant watching a shark documentary with my six-year-old nephew and answering his questions. Sharing that sense of discovery is a big part of why I love storytelling.
Your script has a purpose, and I want to understand it before I step up to the microphone. Who are we talking to? What should they feel? What do you hear when you imagine the finished piece?
I enjoy that back and forth. I welcome direction, ask questions early, and am comfortable trying a different approach. If a read isn’t landing, I want to understand why and work with you to find it.
Years in hospitality leadership taught me to listen closely, stay patient, and find solutions when the first approach isn’t the right one. I bring that same care to voiceover: clear communication, attention to detail, respect for deadlines, and a personal investment in delivering work we can both feel good about.
For a long time, voice acting was something I wanted to pursue someday. While caring for my mom during her illness, we had conversations that made me reconsider what I was waiting for.
One day she told me:
“Brandon, I don’t care what you do. I just want you to be happy, and I’m proud of you no matter what you do.”
Her encouragement helped me take a dream I’d carried for years seriously. Those words are part of why I’m here, learning the craft and building something I care about.
Brandon’s professional contact address and casting profiles will be added before the public launch.
